Court bundle software for England and Wales

A court bundle is the indexed, paginated set of documents a judge or tribunal works from at your hearing, usually provided as a single PDF. BundleCreator is court bundle software that builds it for you: choose your area of law, add your documents, and it creates the index, the page numbering, the bookmarks and the title page. It is used by litigants in person, solicitors, barristers, paralegals and McKenzie Friends.

No card needed to start. Nothing to install.

How the court bundle software works

  1. Step 1

    Choose your area of law

Start from a template set built for your kind of hearing. There are over 370 templates across every area of law we cover, laid out by hearing stage, so you fill in a structure instead of a blank page.

  2. Step 2

    Add your documents

Upload PDFs, Word files and images, or write statements and chronologies with the built-in templates. Drag each document into the right section and put them in order.

  3. Step 3

    Check it and export

BundleCreator numbers the pages, builds the index and bookmarks, and exports one PDF. Large bundles are compressed to help them fit within court upload limits.

What you get

Index and page numbering
An index is built from your sections and documents. Choose lettered sections that restart in each section (A1, B1), continuous numbering that keeps the section letter, or plain numbers that match the PDF page numbers (1, 2, 3).
Title page and bookmarks
The title page is generated from your case details, and every section and document is bookmarked in the exported PDF so a judge can move around it.
Templates with plain-English guidance
Witness statements, chronologies, skeleton arguments and more come with highlighted guidance that is removed automatically when you export, so the final bundle holds only the finished document.
Compression for upload limits
Scanned and image-heavy bundles are compressed, with an option to keep original quality, to help you stay within the size limits courts set for electronic bundles.
Sign a document in the viewer
Draw your signature on a PDF with a mouse, finger or stylus and save a signed copy into the bundle. The original file is kept.
Held in the UK
Documents are hosted in London, encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit, and handled in line with UK GDPR. BundleCreator does not train AI on customer data.

Rules, deadlines and checks

The rules for a bundle differ by court and by case, and any directions in your own case come first. BundleCreator is designed to help you meet the format rules. It does not replace legal advice, and the court decides whether a bundle is acceptable. These guides and tools help you check:

Court bundle software: frequently asked questions

What is court bundle software?

Court bundle software puts the documents for a hearing into one indexed, paginated PDF in the order set by the rules and directions that apply. BundleCreator does this for courts and tribunals in England and Wales: you choose your area of law, add your documents, and it builds the index, the page numbering, the bookmarks and the title page.

Is a court bundle the same as a trial bundle, hearing bundle or e-bundle?

In everyday use these words describe the same thing: the indexed, paginated set of documents for a hearing, now usually prepared as a single PDF, though some hearings still need paper copies. The rules use their own terms: court bundle in family proceedings, trial bundle in civil trials, hearing bundle in employment tribunals and appeal bundle in the appeal courts. The directions in your case say what is required. BundleCreator builds the bundle whatever it is called.

Is there a court bundle template?

Yes. Every area of law has templates laid out by hearing stage, with the sections and documents usually needed, which you should check against the directions in your case, and guidance that is removed automatically when you export. Choose your area of law on this page to see them.

Who has to prepare the bundle?

The directions in your case say. It is often one party, such as the respondent in many employment tribunal claims, who prepares it after agreeing the contents with the others. Check your directions before you start, so you do not build a bundle someone else is responsible for, or leave out something the directions require.

Who is BundleCreator for?

Litigants in person, solicitors, barristers, paralegals and McKenzie Friends. It is software, not a law firm, so it does not give legal advice, and the court decides whether any bundle is acceptable.

Which courts and tribunals does it cover?

It covers every area of law listed on this page, across the courts and tribunals of England and Wales, including family, civil and commercial, employment, immigration and asylum, SEND, the Property Chamber, tax, housing, probate, bankruptcy and criminal matters. Each area has templates laid out by hearing stage.

How are the pages numbered?

Courts and practice directions ask for different styles, so BundleCreator offers three ways to number pages: lettered sections that restart in each section (A1, B1), continuous numbering that keeps the section letter, and plain numbers that match the PDF page numbers (1, 2, 3). Choose the one your direction asks for, and check any directions in your own case.

Can I try it before I pay?

Yes. Every account starts with a 7-day trial, and no card is needed to start. After the trial you can subscribe or buy access to a single bundle. The pricing page has the current prices.

Is a bundle made with BundleCreator guaranteed to be accepted?

No. BundleCreator is designed to help you meet the format rules, but the rules differ by court and by case, and the court decides whether a bundle is acceptable. Read the practice direction and any directions that apply to your hearing, and take legal advice if you are unsure.
